Toy Story of Terror! - October 16 on ABC

Hobbitception

I know these videos have been out for a few months already but I just found out about them the other night. Still, it's pretty damn cool.

The first video is the trailer for "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" followed by the reaction video of Alex (Kili) and Kellie (Fili) of Happy Hobbit. They are huge fans and apparently were VERY excited about the new trailer. Well, apparently word got to Peter Jackson and the cast about the video and they decided to film their own reaction video to the girls' reaction video. Then the girls found out and filmed another reaction video to the crew's reaction video of the girls' reaction video to the trailer for "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug".

Confused? I know I am.

I heard about this on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Orlando Bloom was there promoting his play "Romeo and Juliet". At the 3:12 mark he mentions the girls and their video.

Grizzly Bear - Two Weeks

Here's a little comparison between the official "Two Weeks" music video by Grizzly Bear and a fan video by animator Gabe Askew. I kind of like the fan video better.

Here's the official video....

And here's the fan video......

Tomb Raider: Lara's Evolution 1996-2013

I finished the latest Tome Raider game a few weeks ago. It was amazing! The graphics were outstanding! The story was great! Everything about it was so much fun! This marks only the second time I finished a Tomb Raider game. The first one I finished all the way though was the second one which was, in my opinion, one of the best. So here's a look back at how Miss Lara Croft has changed over the years.

My Birthday Summer Blockbusters

One of the great things about being born on June 15 is there is usually a big Summer Blockbuster released around that time. Last year it was Brave (June 22). In 2011 it was X-Men: First Class (June 3) and Super 8 (June 10). In 2010 they released The A-Team (June 11) and Toy Story 3 (June 18).

This year is gonna be another great year!

After Earth (June 7)

The Internship (June 12)

This is the End (June 12)

World War Z (June 21)

Monsters University (June 21)

Oh yeah, and then there's this little movie.

Cartoon Round-up 32: Bill Plympton

I'm surprised I haven't posted anything specifically about the great Bill Plympton. And then I realized there really isn't anywhere on-line to find full copies of his animated shorts, only clips here and there. I did post his opening to one of The Simpsons episode which you can see here. One of the things I love about Bill Plympton is his unique drawing and animating style. It could be described as limited animation but he makes it work. AND he pretty much animates everything himself. Not many filmmakers can say that.

You can also subscribe to his YouTube channel here.

And visit his website Plymptoons!

"Summer Bummer" (2012)

One of my favorite characters that keeps coming back is his Guard Dog character. That little guy cracks me up every time! He's just trying to do his best but it just seems his best is not good enough. Poor little guy.
